Description
Title: Untitled #950437. From Booth's "Corpus Beyond the Body" series. Born in Hull, England, Alvin Booth is now a New York based artist. His work focuses on the intrinsic beauty of the human form as well as the mutations of that beauty. Booth's first book, Corpus (with a forward written by Charlotte Cotton of the Victoria and Albert Museum) was published in 1999 and was awarded the Kodak Photo Book Press Award. This is a Salt print; toned and distressed. Hand-wrought metal frame with two oval hooks fixed to top. Glass glaze on front and back. Photograph depicts lower half of male torso with male genitalia restrained by rope. Artist signature on lower left; title written on back. Sight size: 13.25"H x 10.25"W; frame: 14"H x 11"W x 0.5"D.
