Rare Cotton Weft Ikat Ceremonial Cepuk Cloth, Nusa Penida, Indonesia, Late 19th-Early 20th C. The cepuk is a very important sacred textile for the Balinese and is believed to both protect the wearer and to open a devotional connection to the ancestral spirits during various life transition ceremonies between birth and death. Natural dyes. Size: 114.5'' x 29.5'', 291 x 75 cm.
