Description
A Middle Sepik Stool, Kwoma Washkuk people, East Sepik Province, Papua New Guinea. Of typical form, the stool of hour-glass shape with four arching struts connecting the upper and lower sections. Stools of this type were common in men’s houses and were used as simple furniture. Acquired by Marc Seidler from Rudi Ceaser, C. 1980’s. The stool measures 12 inches tall x 10.5 inches wide.
