Description

Western Europe, Germany, ca. early 20th century CE. A delightful wooden circus toy with a spring loaded felt lion that leaps out when the cage door is opened! The ends of the cart also open to small compartments that might have carried other animals at one time, and the cage is mounted on wheels for a child to pull along on a cord. Size: 13.5" L x 5.5" W x 8.5" H (34.3 cm x 14 cm x 21.6 cm)

Provenance: ex-private Bishop Family Trust collection, the Trust of the late Bill Bishop, a noted antiquarian with shops in Scottsdale, Arizona and Allenspark, Colorado, USA, acquired before 2010
