VIRGINIA CONFEDERATE (C. S. A.) CDV OF CAPT. JAMES B. S. ALEXANDER (1836-1861), a bust depiction in likely his Virginia Militia uniform. Backstamped for William Roads, Main St., Charlottesville, VA. Circa 1860. 4" x 2 1/2".
Catalogue Note: Little information can be found on Capt. Alexander. He resided in Charlottesville with his family in 1850 where his father was employed as a printer. He died from typhoid fever August 13, 1861 and was buried at the Maplewood Cemetery in Charlottesville.

Property from the Hammond, Revercomb, and Deyerle families, Covington, Virginia.
Condition
Very good condition with minor scuffing.
