Description
STAFFORDSHIRE AFRICAN VIEW TRANSFER-PRINTED CERAMIC PLATTER, featuring "CAPE COAST CASTLE / ON THE GOLD COAST AFRICA", as printed below image, depicting several vessels including one flying the American flag, with a whitewashed fort-like building in background, and irregular shell border decoration. Impressed "WOOD", "A", and "16" to underside. Enoch Wood & Sons, Burslem, England. 1818-1846. 16 1/2" x 12 3/4".
