Description
Persia, 17th century or earlier. The flat dish with a lipped rim, centered by a hunter on a camel, poised to shoot an arrow at three deer running in front of him, the ground beneath the hunter shows a fourth deer that has already been struck by an arrow, the depiction is highlighted in gilding.
Alloy composition analysis: Silver 85.8% purity. The dish was tested by the Zelnik Istvan Southeast Asian Gold Museum.
Condition: Good condition, minor wear, small dents, few nicks and light surface scratches.
Provenance: The collection of The Zelnik Istvan Southeast Asian Gold Museum. Institutional art collection in Belgium, acquired from the above. Dr. Istvan Zelnik, President of the Hungarian South and Southeast Asian Research Institute, is a former high-ranking Hungarian diplomat who spent several decades in Southeast Asia, building the largest known private collection of Asian art in Europe.
