Description
Burma / Myanmar, 19th century or earlier. Of circular form, cast with cubes inset with rubies, within beaded decoration and a pair of ribbed globular beads flanking a central cube set with an opening mechanism, with hinged lower section.
Alloy composition analysis: Gold 18 karat. The bracelet was tested by the Zelnik Istvan Southeast Asian Gold Museum.
Condition: Very good condition with expected traces of use and wear.
Provenance: The collection of The Zelnik Istvan Southeast Asian Gold Museum. Institutional art collection in Belgium, acquired from the above. Dr. Istvan Zelnik, President of the Hungarian South and Southeast Asian Research Institute, is a former high-ranking Hungarian diplomat who spent several decades in Southeast Asia, building the largest known private collection of Asian art in Europe.
