Three other rare varieties appeared including a 1970-S Cent with both a Doubled Die obverse and a Large Date over a Small Date. A 1970-S Large Date with a Doubled Die obverse and one with a Triple Die obverse. Both the Doubled Die obverse and Triple Die obverse show doubling on "IN GOD WE TRUST", the date, and "LIBERTY". The 1970-S Small Date variety and Large Date variety can be distinguished by looking at LIBERTY, Liberty on the Small Date variety will be weak and on the Large Date variety will be strong. Another method to identify the two varieties is to look at the date. On the Small Date variety the top of the 7 is level with the tops of the 9 and the 0. On the Large Date variety, the top of the 7 is below an imaginary line connecting the tops of the 9 and the 0. The mintage of each variety is unknown, but the Proof 1970-S Small Date is valued about 50 to 60 times the Proof 1970-S Large Date.
