Chinese Altar Table, Wood from Gobi Desert Tomb

Description

Chinese Altar table- I was told the wood used to make this table was found long ago in 1000+-year-old Tombs in the Gobi desert. I am unsure how old the table itself is, but the joints have had time to show significant shrinkage (with material later to fill the shrinkage gaps). This suggests that the table itself was made some time ago. Approx 25 years ago I saw 5 or 6 pieces of furniture made of this type of wood on the market- and none since. The surface of this wood- dried over 1000+ years, untouched in desert tombs, is incredible and unlike any wood that I've seen before. All sides in solid massive planks. Very large- dimensions to follow.
