Single Sided Painted Tin showing original Wooden Three Dimensional Lettering. Very likely is the direct result of William K. Durant’s “Bow Tie” design. An incredibly unique as well as rare piece of early Chevrolet Automobiles advertising showing original hand-painted blue painted Tin. CONDITION: Sign is overall very good for its age and make up showing all of its original wooden lettering intact. The blue painted tin showing hand painted brush markings with white bordered striping. Paint shows moderate to heavy wear throughout but is sound with an excellent crackling and alligatoring to the remaining paint. The original wooden lettering shows remnants of its original white paint with an outstanding patina throughout showing only age wear. The "L" shows a small broken piece at the bottom portion but is not overly distracting. Sign shows small mounting holes along the outer edge and appears to have possibly been attached to a displaying can of some kind but the outer edge is very clean and free of any heavy damage. An incredibly unique and well displaying piece of early Chevrolet Automobile Advertising. This maybe the earliest surviving example of a dealership sign known. Condition: (7.0). Dimensions: 40" X 15".
