Julius Erving Signed Spalding Basketball (NO COA). Affectionately known as "Dr. J" he is often credited with legitimizing the ABA (American Basketball Association) as he was known as their undisputed best player. Eventually the league merged with the NBA and Erving continued his greatness there, never missing a postseason ONCE in his career. The basketball slang of being "posterized" was first coined to describe Erving's emphatic dunks over his opponents.
