Matching upper and lower with blind design with four pictorial cornerpieces. Spine with 4 raised bands, gilt lettering. Printed endpapers. Top edges gilt, front and bottom deckled. Limited edition 34/1350 printed on Japon de Luxe, numbered and signed by Hartley. Some rubbing to joints and spine ends, corners bumped, generally very good condition. * Castiglione, Baldesar; Opdycke, Leonard Eckstein. THE BOOK OF THE COURTIER. Translated from the Italian and annotated by Leonard Eckstein Opdycke. New York: Charles Scribner's Sons, 1901. Quarto. Full limp vellum-paper boards. Upper with gilt stamp. Spine lettered in gilt. Front and bottom edges deckled. Some leaves uncut at top edge. Limited ed 333/500. Some rubbing/toning, light warping of boards, generally very good condition. Ex libris Irwin Laughlin; bookplate on pasted endpaper. One Irwin B.
