Probably 19th C., decorated with the heraldry associated with Claude of France (1499-1524), Queen of France, wife of King Francis I (m. 1514); featuring clockwise from front: the crowned porcupine of her father, King Louis XII, Claude's own badge of a speared swan, a crowned salamander for Francis, and a crowned ermine for her mother, Queen Anne (formerly Anne of Brittany)
