Description
Southeast Asian hand-carved and polychrome painted wood statue or architectural element in the form of a Garuda temple guardian. 12" H x 9.5" W x 1.5" D. Provenance: From the collection of Le Lieu and Malcolm Browne (American, 1931-2012), the photojournalist who took the 1963 award-winning photograph of the self-immolation of Buddhist Monk Thic Quang Duc (Vietnamese, 1893-1963).
