Architectural work by French master architect Jacques-Francois Blondel (1705-1774) on maisons de plaisance, essentially retreat homes for nobles and the wealthy. Extensively illustrated with plates of architecture, gardens, ornaments, and bird's-eye plans. Jacques-Francois Blondel was among the most influential figures of European architecture in the 18th century, and his l'Architecture Francaise earned him an appointment as architect to Louis XV. Believed to be complete, but not collated; sold as-is for the plates.

Condition

Bindings a bit rubbed, joints tender, bookplates removed; minor soiling, foxing, marks, a few short tears; overall very good.
