A World War I officer’s campaign hat by the Stetson Company. The wide brimmed hat features a ‘Montana Peak’ crown with four ventilation holes, constructed of OD green wool felt. The green headband is mostly covered by a black and gold officer’s cord with acorns. The leather chinstrap and metal slits the strap fits through display patina. On the sweatband is the maker mark for the John B. Stetson Company, further marked by the retailer Marshall Field and Company of Chicago. The chinstrap has split and there is a chip to the rim of the sweatband, otherwise very good.
