Imperial German 'Lion's Head' cavalry sword, 33 in. blade and 38 in. overall. This dove head sword features a black celluloid grip wrapped with triple brass wire, the center being twisted, and protected by a swelled handguard. The wire wrapping has come loose in a few areas at the bottom. Decorated with a lion’s head at the top of the grip, complete with red glass eyes. Two crossed cavalry swords displayed on the crossguard. The blade is a bit rough with pitting throughout, obscuring any marks at the ricasso, though, the blade gets brighter towards the end. Housed in a black painted steel scabbard, with a single suspension ring. The painted scabbard is largely chipped, still a good example.
