Description
Great grouping of a World War II Navy Seabees uniform. Includes: blue wool dress tunic bearing white piping at the cuffs and along the border of the back flap. Sewn to the right is a Seabees insignia patch and displayed below is a Navy rank patch depicting a perched eagle above crossed axes and two red chevrons, indicating the rank of petty officer second class for a damage controlman. Displayed on the right breast is an Honorable Service Lapel Patch or ‘Ruptured Duck’ patch. Above the left breast pocket is a ribbon bar, ribbons including: Asiatic-Pacific Campaign bearing two bronze service stars, and a faded Philippines Liberation bar, placed upside down and bearing one bronze service star. Suspended beneath the left breast pocket are two medals, including: Navy Good Conduct and the World War II Victory medal; pair of blue wool trousers with 13 buttons on the front broadfall, depicting an anchor; a blue wool cap, size 6 7/8, and with an additional ‘U.S. NAVY’ marked black side band; and two black silk neckerchiefs, one of which is marked in white lettering ‘JOHANNSON K E 542 56 0956 133’. This grouping is in fine condition.
