World War II era U.S. Army M1 helmet, painted OD green with a rough sand finish throughout. The helmet features fixed chinstrap bales, liner, and fully intact chinstraps for both the shell and liner. An open gromet hole at the front of the liner and the seam at the front of the shell. At the front of the liner are five messily hand-written chevrons, to indicate the rank of sergeant. This was likely done by a child rather than officially due to the sloppy appearance. The leather chinstrap is a bit brittle, else very good.
