Rare variant Iron Cross, 2nd Class, being the 'Ubergrosse' version, approx. 47mm. wide and tall, but otherwise identical to the standard size Iron Cross, 2nd Class. Paint and all details are in exceptional condition, with a portion of ribbon which a later vandal mutilated in an effort to pawn this medal off as the nearly identically-sized Knights Cross. Regardless, this version is rarely seen, especially in such fine condition. Unmarked.
