Photograph album compiled by a Japanese physician, Dr. Takagi Hisatochi, K.I.A 1914. The 9 x 11 in. album bears the doctor's photo on uniform on the cover. Hisatochi mounted about 60 of the 147 photographs within the album, and his family completed the album following his death. Images include the doctor in uniform and during training, many portraits on horseback, in groups and individual, about half the photos showing him in civilian garb and relaxing with friends and family. 26 of the photos are from Hisatochi's elaborate funeral, indicating he was much respected in his community. Very good overall.
