DELBERT BUCK Navajo Folk Art Carved Wood SculptureSigned Delbert Buck Navajo Native American folk art carved wood sculpture. Subject depicts a woman riding a Harley Davidson motorcycle with a sheep in side car. Signed to underside, dated 1996. Some surface wear consistent with exposure, some cracking and loss to paint observed. Measures approx. 21 x 8 x 15 inches. Navajo Folk Artist, Delbert Buck was born in Shiprock, New Mexico to Wilford and Jenny Buck in September of 1976. Delbert is self-taught and started at the ripe old age of nine. His artwork started in an innocent way with the carving of toy guns for his younger brothers. The idea of carving figures just came to him. He first thought of carving a horse as he is an avid lover and participant of rodeos, with his favorite event being bull riding. Toh-Atin Gallery.
