Der gestalterische Wille perfekte Lösungen bei der Verschmelzung technisch-praktischer und formal-ästhetischer Funktionen zu kreieren, hat über die Generationen erstaunlich faszinierende Lösungen hervorgebracht.

Der Rollenzug ist Bestandteil des Schmalband-Trittwebstuhls. Er diente der Verankerung der Rolle, durch deren Mittelrille die Verbindungsschnur zweier sog. Litzenstäbe verlief, mit deren Hilfe man die Kettfäden heben und senken konnte.
