Description
SERIAL NUMBER: NSN. BARREL: 28". CALIBER: .303 BRITISH. MANUFACTURED: 1909. Made at the Quebec Arsenal in Canada. Cartouche on the left side of the butt, in addition to various lined out unit markings. This gun has U.S. "flaming bomb" markings on the wrist area, over a applied serial number, meaning this rifle was sold to the U.S. during WW1 and used for training purposes. Blade front sight (missing hood), and original fine adjustable rear ladder. Military blued finish. Stock has been lightly sanded and oiled. Stock was duffel cut, with a GEW 98 Mauser forearm added as a stand in. Metal butt plate with cleaning kit slot. Brass oiler inside. CONDITION: Metal is good overall, with a light gray patina forming. Some light surface rust on the barrel/front band, and on the magazine follower. Stock has normal scrapes and scratches. Bore is clean overall, with strong rifling. Mechancially fine. C&R
