Description
American. 1948. Veneer case with chrome trim, acrylic dome and backlit moulded plastic panels. This 24-selection jukebox plays 78RPM records. The 1100 followed the smashing success of Wurlitzer's iconic 1015 jukebox. It features a cobra pick up system which was first introduced in 1948 and set new standards for sound quality at that time. This was one of the first products made following WWII factory conversion production. In fact, the shape of the dome is said to be modelled after the turret of fighter planes. Professionally restored. 3 light bulbs are burnt out in the arch. No records included. Set for free play. Mechanically functioning, currently set for free play.
