Description
An early Chinese polychrome decorated pottery Buddha tile in a custom made shadow box frame. Inscription on reverse states it was collected by C.J. Spider while vice-consul at Shanghai, from ruined temple once used by Emperor Ch’ien Lung in the 18th C. Tile 4.5” x 2.5”, Overall in frame 9” x 7.25”.
Condition
not examined out of frame, evidence of paint wear and loss.
