8X10 Sepia Glossy vintage photograph signed in ballpoint ink, "For Jim Wiggins, with every good wish, Sincerely William Primrose 1964." A hairline crease to the top, otherwise nice.(1904-1982) William Primrose was a Scottish violist and teacher. He performed with the London String Quartet from 1930 to 1935. He then joined the NBC Symphony Orchestra where he formed the Primrose Quartet. He performed in various countries around the world as a soloist throughout his career. He also taught at several universities and institutions. He authored several books on viola technique.This lot came from the Jim Wiggins collection we purchased in July 2022. Jim Wiggins accumulated the most unique and valuable autograph collection over a period of 70-plus years. He obtained his collection either in person or by writing to persons of fame and notoriety.
