Roman Gold Triple Phallic Pendant, c. 2nd Century A.D.
Amulet representing one central phallus and two on either side.
For more than three thousand years the phallic symbol was considered a strong good luck and fertility charm and protective against evil eye but never more so than during the Greek and Roman period. One of three similar amulets, probably used to belong a necklace.
