Koichi Okada - Moon light on Tamagawa. Japanese woodblock print.

Original woodblock print. The first edition of this design was published around 1950. The current print is from 2022, the first year the print was reprinted since the first editions. It was printed using the original woodblocks.
Size of the image (excluding margins) in centimeters 36.4 x 24.0 (14.3 x 9.5 inches).

Okada Koichi was a contemporary of Hasui, and is best known for his striking images of Mount Fuji from circa the 1950s, named "Twelve Views of Japan". Although the title suggests the existence of 12 prints, only 6 are known to exist. He published at Unsodo in Kyoto. These beautiful shin-hanga designs show the sacred mountain in the different seasons. His works are amazing pieces to collect and display.
