Bamburgh Castle.- Sharp (Rev. John, Church of England clergyman and senior trustee and administrator of Lord Crewe's Charity at Bamburgh Castle, vicar of Hartburn, prebendary of Durham and archdeacon of Northumberland, 1723-92) c. 108 Autograph Letters signed "J Sharp" to Thomas Adams, Attorney at Law, Alnwick (1 marked "Copy"), numerous pp. (with conjugate blanks and address panels), sm. 4to, Bamburgh Castle, Hartburn and Durham, 2nd March 1772 - 2nd July 1778, on a variety of matters, including relating to the administration and trusteeship of Lord Crewe's Charity at Bamburgh Castle and the surrounding area, Bamburgh Castle Courts, and local matters; and a quantity of other letters addressed to Sharp, remains of wax seals, torn where opened, a few stains, folds, slightly browned (qty).
