Japanese Meiji Era Samurai Sword Katana Kanefusa. 66.5cm Sword Size; Cutting Edge Length 66.5cm (26.18in); Sword Full length 88cm (34.65in); Saki-haba 2.33cm (0.92in); Saki-gasane 0.59cm (0.23in); Moto-haba 2.99cm (1.18in); Moto-gasane 0.67cm (0.26in); Shirasaya full length 97.4cm (38.35in); Sori curve 1.5cm (0.59in). Fujiwara Kunifusa (1883-1962) is the 23rd blacksmith in a line that dates to the 15th century in the region of Seki. He has continued the tradition of forging swords up to the Second World War. He forged for the emperor and the diplomatic corps. Seki is renowned for the quality of its steel and its blacksmiths, from the 15th century until today and produced the majority of Japanese swords for the 1939-1945 conflict. Please note the stand does not come with the sword.
