The Thomas Huckins House is a historic house located in Barnstable, Massachusetts. It was built circa 1675-1700 and is one of the oldest surviving houses in Barnstable. The house was built by Thomas Huckins, a farmer and carpenter who was one of the original settlers of Barnstable. The house was constructed using traditional English building techniques, with a central chimney and steeply pitched roof. The house has undergone several renovations over the years, including the addition of a lean-to in the 18th century and a porch in the 19th century. In the early 20th century, the house was converted into a museum, which it remains to this day. The Thomas Huckins House is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is operated by the Barnstable Historical Society. It is open to the public for tours during the summer months. Visitors can explore the historic rooms and view exhibits about the early history of Barnstable and the Cape Cod region.
