An Officer's Spadroon Of The Royal Dublin Volunteers Late 18th CenturyWith tapering double-edged blade (some old rust patination and areas of pitting) of flattened hexagonal section over most of its length, the forte etched and gilt with pre-1801 royal arms and 'For My Country & King' over both sides, the latter between foliage, russet steel hilt comprising side-guard, knuckle-guard pierced for a ring at the top, lobed rear quillon, faceted urn-shaped pommel, reeded ivory grip (minor old splits) with medial border engraved silver band engraved 'RD' over 'V' within a crowned motto belt on one side, and 'REGT' on a banner on the other 82 cm. bladeThis lot is subject to the following lot symbols: Y ФY Subject to CITES regulations when exporting items outside of the EU, see clause 13.Ф This lot contains or is made of ivory and cannot be imported into the USA or any country within the EU.
