Description
Bronze sculpture by Western artist Ralph Crawford (20thc). Depicts Native American Indian Gall. Gall was born in present day South Dakota in 1840 and died in 1894. He was a battle leader of the Hunkpapa Lakota in the long war against the United States and was one of the commanders in the Battle of Little Bighorn. The back of the bronze is signed Ralph Crawford, dated 1974, edition 4/24 and is inscribed "GALL" 1876. The bronze measures 11.75" high. Mounted on a wood base measuring 8" x 8" x 2". Overall height 13.75" high. Brass plaque on front reading, Gall, Hunkpapas - Sioux.
