Arras Verdure Tapestry Circa 1650 The later foliate border enclosing a Verdure scene with a stone building and domestic life with four figures and a dog in the foreground. 90in. x 91in. (228cm. x 230cm) Condition: Areas of loss particularly above the dog. Possibly after a cartoon by Jean LeClerc (1587-1633) Provenance: Acquired by the current consignor's great uncle November 1930 from Fred L. Engel, Importer of Antique rugs and Tapestries, New York. Acquired by Engle in 1929, from the Estate of the Duke de La Rochefaucoult of Dijon.
