American Gothic Revival Stained Oak Cabinet

mid-19th century, the double-arched top surmounted by crockets and with quatrefoil piercings and end finials, above a case fitted with two doors, each arched and astragal-glazed, flanked to either side by cluster columns, raised on stacked and turreted feet.

In "as found" condition. There are shrinkage cracks to the joints of the crests, along with some horizontal open gaps at these joints. Small, chipped losses to the right crest. There is an old pieced-in repair to the arched molding just above the glass on the left door. A few minor veneer chips to the left and right side of the removable top piece. Scattered rubs and abrasions from use. The finish is old and crazed. Small veneer chips along the base. Both of the carved spires are original although the color on their back sides is slightly lighter. They are removable. The height of the cabinet without the spires is 99".
