Austrian Bronze of Athena Confronting Iris, the Messenger of the Gods
ca. 1900, inscribed "D. Hollenbach Wessen/ F. Richter/Wien" and "G.F. Wennisch Sclpt/1898" along sides of self-base, Athena lacking spear and Iris lacking her caduceus, the owl of Athena at back, from a scene in Book VIII of the Iliad by Homer.

Condition
In generally good "as is' estate condition. Areas of rubbing, abrading and some discoloration to surface. Scattered areas of slight oxidation. Whitish accretions in more deeply modeled areas. Spear and Cadeuces are not present.
