Bound here in modern full calf. ************** THE FIRST QUARTO EDITION OF THE BIBLE PRINTED IN AMERICA. This edition was issued both with 2 frontispieces (as seen here) and with numerous plates as seen in other copies (see Wright, page 81.) The printer Isaiah Thomas also produced the first folio the same year; Ben Franklin referred to Thomas as the "Baskerville of America." This copy with the ownership signature of Sarah Bradford, dated 1800

Condition

A number of leaves (mostly at front and rear) with margins strengthened with paper or tissue, similarly some marginal chips or fraying repaired. Pp. 519/20 with some slight loss of text (shown in photos.) Occasional marginal water-stains, occasional light foxing or stains, occasional toning, mostly clean.
