24 original parts, 8vo (224 x 144 mm). 48 etched plates, numerous woodcut vignettes in text. Original pictorial printed yellow wrappers (some small repairs near foot of few volumes, light soiling to covers); folding cloth box. Provenance: W.P. Yearley (contemporary ownership signature on most of the covers).

FIRST EDITION IN PARTS, FIRST ISSUE with “actresses” for “ancestresses” on p. 207, No. 7, line 15 from the bottom. The Virginians Advertiser is present in each part as are most of the other inserted advertisements according to Van Duzer. Van Duzer 232.
