This late 1926 party dress is a sheer light weight black chiffon and chantilly lace, accented with hand sewn floral red, pink, blue and green beadwork bouquets on the chantilly lace, throughout on front and back, V neck, ¾ length sleeves of black lace with stenciled flowers. This dress has a inner attached full length matching pink satin slip with no closures. This sheath dress is a slip over. With black velvet sash decorating drop hip waistline ending with a knot in front with streamers. Skirt has double tiered layered extensive fabric small vertical accordion pleating of chiffon material. No Label.

Recently deaccession from the Strong Museum clothing collection, and still retaining its sewn in fabric tag on inner slip with museums identification catalog numbers and detailed Description Report. Written on report states provenance is Margaret Woodbury Strong from her original estate. Margaret was the founder of the Margaret Strong museum.

CONDITION
The condition is very good condition. Has some underarm discolorations on inner satin slip only, no rips, no holes, no repairs. Section of hem needs to be attached, an easy fix.
