Dating to the second office of President Rafael Carrera y Turcos, and the Guatemalan wars with Nicaragua, El Salvador and Honduras (1862-1865.) Native work, the form based upon that of a machete, with blond horn grips and brass pommel, and a long, single-edged blade with radiused tip. In its leather sheath with brass chape, the leather locket set with a Guatemalan silver UN REAL coin dated 1861. 1860s. Minor wear, scabbard well worn. Overall length 81.5cmCondition III
