Description
Daniel Kaniess (American, 1955-2012). Acrylic ink on wood painting titled "Chairs" depicting a figure sitting on a grey chair against a blue background, 2009. Initialed and dated along the lower right; further dated along the verso. Kaniess was a fixture of the Twin Cities music scene as a founding member of the band 2i. He worked as a musician and artist throughout his life, forming the noise improvisational group BLACKi.

The item is in great condition with no visible tears, creases, or losses. The surface is stable, and the color is bold and bright. No visible sign of restoration under UV light. Along the lower margin, there are minute paint accretions; however, it appears to be original. Clean verso.
