Warren MacKenzie (American, 1924-2018). Studio pottery ceramic trumpet vase. Glazed stoneware with impressed decoration along the sides. Stamped along the footrim.
Warren MacKenzie was a renowned Minnesota studio potter. A student of Bernard Leach and Shoji Hamada, he is credited with bringing the functional Mingei tradition to the United States, and spreading it through his own art and mentorship of students during his long tenure at the University of Minnesota.

Condition
The vase is in excellent condition with no visible chips, cracks, or losses. No visible chips to the rim. Light crazing began to form from the top. Original firing and glazing flaws visible. Very light wear to the footrim, consistent with age and use. No sign of restoration under UV light.
