Description
Georgian chest of drawers of mahogany with brass handles. Five drawers; three longer and the top panel split into two smaller drawers. The chest rests on four carved feet. Likely ca. 19th century.

Condition
The piece is structurally stable and sturdy. No visible sign of restoration under UV light. Wear throughout as expected from age and use; the surface stretches throughout, particularly to the top of the piece. Along the top, there are cracks as shown in the listing image; however, it does not affect the function of the piece. All drawers open and close smoothly. Along the interior of each drawer, there is undulation to the white sheet adhered to the interior. Light oxidation and discoloration to the metal components. To the drawers, there are minute losses along the extreme edge, possibly against the drawer body; please see the listing image. Along the area where the drawers and the body meet, there are visible cracks; however, the cracks are not a hindrance to the function. Along the foot of the piece, there are several finish losses. To the right side, there is a light crack towards the foot, measuring 6 in. Along the back, there are stretches that are possibly rubbed against other furniture of the wall; see the listing image; along the back, there is a crack to the upper left corner, approximately 6 in.
