Note: Konstantin Konstantinovich Kuznetsov arrived in Los Angeles from Russia in 1948. His illustrations and paintings, influenced by Ilya Repins historical paintings and Belinins fairy-tale folk style, quickly found favor with the Russian community. In the 1950s, Kuznetsov met the Russian-born Sonia Colefax, who was quickly captivated by his style of painting, particularly his detailed, idealized works of Russias past.
