Description
As with the equally famous 1904 World's Fair which was held a decade later, the theme of the Chicago fair in 1893 commemorated an historical event. The Columbian Exposition commemorating the Christopher Columbus voyage of discovery is the subject of this rotating world globe in gold-filled mount to be used as a watch fob or pendant. The hand painted scene of Fair buildings and the world's oceans are depicted.
