This is a lovely map of the historic Saintonge region plus Cognac in the southwest of France. Towns and cities shown include Cognac, giving its name to the famous brandy, Saintes, and La Rochelle. Much detail is shown, inlcuding topography, rivers, lakes, forests, towns, etc. Three ships are at sea. There is a wonderful decorative title cartouche and a secondary cartouche with four putti. French text on verso.
