Norman Stiles Chamberlain (American, 1887-1961) Oil On Wood Panel, 1910, Rural Village, H 10'' W 13'' | Signed and dated in the lower right. Norman Chamberlain, a Michigan-born artist that studied under Mathias Alten. In 1910 he spent two years in the Hague studying Dutch painters. He later moved to California where he had a successful career that included painting murals for Riverside High School, the First Nat'l Bank in Pasadena and the Huntington Park Post Office. This painting appears to be a Dutch landscape from his time spent in the Netherlands. Period carved wood frame H 13.75", W 16.25". J.L. Hudsons Gallery label on verso of frame. Provenance: Property of a Macomb, MI private collector.
