Toms (C.1700-C.1755) 6.5 x 7.25 inches (paper) unframed William Toms (fl. 1690-1730) was an English engraver and cartographer who worked in London during the late 17th and early 18th centuries. He is known for producing a number of high-quality map engravings of British cities and towns, which were highly regarded for their accuracy and detail. Toms began his career as an apprentice to the engraver Robert Morden, and he later worked with other notable mapmakers of his time, including Herman Moll and John Senex. He produced a wide variety of maps and atlases, including world maps, regional maps, and maps of individual countries and cities. Map Warwickshire, Westmorland, Somersetshire, Northhamptonshire, Wiltshire, Worcestershire, Leicestershire, Lancashire Overall good condition. Foxing to paper.
